News
The latest news from Great Casterton Parish Council.

The Police report that no less than 21 catalytic converters have been removed from 4 X 4 cars recently: four of them were in Great Casterton. The converters will cost you several hundred pounds to replace and the thieves will be able to flog them for about £150.
Ford Rangers are the thieves most popular car and it takes them less than a minute to get them off.
TAKE PRECAUTIONS

The Parish Council has objected to a planning request to build at new wind farm of two turbines 100 metres high at Steadfold Lane in Ketton.
You would be able to see these turbines from points in Great Casterton and the basis of the objection is that they are a blot on the countryside; they discourage visitors, despite exaggerated claims they produce very small amounts of electricity, and most importantly they set a precedent for new wind farms in other areas perhaps closer to Great Casterton.

The Parish Council has bought four new Street litter bins and these will be placed adjacent to the Crown, by the bus shelter by The Plough, close to the Primary School, and by CBEC.
Please make use of them.

All the streetlights in the village owned by the Parish Council have now been upgrade to new energy saving bulbs and electrical connections. This has been paid for by the Parish Council.
The only exceptions are the large light at the crossroads, the ones in College Close, Ermine Rise, Home Farm Close and some in the Pickworth Road which are owned by the County Council. No County Council plans for upgrade yet.
